{"id":37565,"date":"2026-09-02T09:16:54","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T09:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nova.vabamu.ee\/?post_type=study-bites&#038;p=37565"},"modified":"2026-09-02T09:35:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T09:35:57","slug":"global-estonian-youth-envoys-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"study-bites","link":"https:\/\/nova.vabamu.ee\/en\/study-bites\/global-estonian-youth-envoys-summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Estonian Youth Envoys\u2019\u00a0Summer School\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This summer,&nbsp;Vabamu&nbsp;had the opportunity to work with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organise the first Global Estonian Youth Envoys\u2019&nbsp;Summer School.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Global Estonian Youth&nbsp;Envoys\u2019&nbsp;Summer School, held from&nbsp;26&nbsp;July to&nbsp;2&nbsp;August&nbsp;2026, offered 47&nbsp;youth with Estonian roots, from more than 20 countries,&nbsp;the&nbsp;opportunity to learn about Estonia\u2019s government, society, economy, culture, and&nbsp;defence. Over the course of the week, participants visited Tallinn, Tartu,&nbsp;Seto-&nbsp;and&nbsp;V\u00f5rumaa&nbsp;and met with&nbsp;numerous&nbsp;representatives from Estonian public life, business, the cultural sector, and civil society.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme&nbsp;included&nbsp;an introduction to Estonian food and culture through a cooking class at&nbsp;Toiduakadeemia&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;tour of Tallinn\u2019s Old Town.&nbsp;Among the government institutions visited were Stenbock House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.&nbsp;The programme also brought the participants to&nbsp;the Arvo P\u00e4rt Centre, the e-Estonia&nbsp;briefing centre, various Estonian companies, and&nbsp;Vabamu. Discussions focused on the Estonian economy,&nbsp;AI, foreign and security policy, democracy, equality, and civil society. In addition, the group visited the Tapa Military Base, the University of Tartu, and the Estonian National Museum. In&nbsp;the southeast of Estonia, the&nbsp;summer school participants were able to&nbsp;explore the local culture and nature,&nbsp;undertaking&nbsp;a bog hike, and attending&nbsp;the Seto Kingdom Day celebrations.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All in all, the summer school was a meaningful and multifaceted journey through both time and space:&nbsp;providing&nbsp;the opportunity to learn more about&nbsp;Estonia\u2019s history, society, and culture.
